My name is Phillip Bashford. I am one of the new Academic Heads at Anglo-Continental
The academic departments I will manage are Teacher Training, Young Learners, Vacation Centre, Examination and Club 50.
Before starting at Anglo-Continental, I worked as a CELTA, DELTA and ICELT consultant trainer. This work has been my bread and butter for the last 7 years. I have had the pleasure of delivering CELTA courses in various countries around the world. My work has taken me to the United States, Tunisia, Thailand and Korea. For the past year I have been working at ACE in Cambodia.
I have also worked for the British Council. I have worked as the Corporates and Operations Manager at the British Council in Dubai, and as the Senior Teacher Trainer at British Council in Seoul. In addition to the various roles I have held, I have over 20 years’ experience as an English language teacher.
“I thoroughly enjoy helping learners of a variety of ages and backgrounds to improve their general and specialised English skills.”
Throughout my career, I have worked on my own professional development to ensure that I provide the highest level of expertise to students. I have two university degrees in English. I hold a first-class degree in English Language and Cultural Studies and an MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. These professional qualifications are complimented by a Cambridge CELTA and DELTA. I have further qualified as a CELTA Main Course Tutor and and DELTA Local Tutor.
With an extensive background in English language education and professional experience in this sector, I look forward to helping Anglo-Continental, and it’s students, reach new heights. I am looking forward to taking on this new and exciting role and to meeting many new English language students in the coming years.
